'Mortal Kombat X' updates: 'Tanya' DLC coming in June

"Mortal Kombat X" players are close to welcoming a new character to the arena. Series creator Ed Boon revealed to an inquiring Twitter user that Tanya, the slender female henchman from Edenia, would be here next month.

"She's koming soon, in early June or my name ain't boon," the "Mortal Kombat" series creator tweeted.

This will make Tanya, who NetherRealm Studios mentioned back in March along with three other characters, the newest fighter to be made available. Just recently, the game studio showed off her finishers in a bloody footage. Backtracking to the series' history, Tanya has been a staple kombatant since "Mortal Kombat 4," which was released way back in 1997.

Jason Voorhees in all his sadistic glory was made playable earlier this month. The remaining characters from the $30 Kombat Pack yet to show up are the fan-demanded characters Tremor and Predator.

It is likely that the latter fighters won't be the last addition to the mix. Ever since a modder managed to play as Rain, Sindel, and Baraka, complete with their styles and movesets, there have been rumors that one of them, if not all, will join the playable pack soon. Currently, the three fighters are only found in the story mode of "Mortal Kombat X" and are not playable in the game.

Even Boon hinted at the possibility that Rain might join the fun and brutality in the battlefield. He once tweeted an image that seemed to pertain to the character, although he hasn't followed up that teaser ever since.

Boon has yet to drop a specific date as to when Tanya will arrive. For those who are patient enough to wait, Tanya could show up in the challenge tower, the same way Jason Voorhees was officially welcomed to the "Mortal Kombat X" world.
