NetherRealm Studios is all for a seamless online "Mortal Kombat X" experience and so the developer has decided to carry out an enhanced online beta later this month.

"We at NetherRealm are constantly trying to enhance and enrich the experience of our games, and improving the online experience is among the most requested areas of our player base," the game studio explained, as quoted by PlayStation Lifestyle.

"With the MKX Enhanced Online Beta, we are exploring new technology and methodology to bring our fans more responsive, seamless online matches," the "Mortal Kombat X" developer added.

NetherRealm Studios is aiming for the offline gameplay feel by the end of the "Mortal Kombat X" enhanced online beta. Throughout the event, the developer will heed the players' feedback as to what works and which aspects of the game needs improvement.

"Mortal Kombat X" online is expected to provide "smoother experience" and less lags. With the help of fans, the studio will figure out and eventually fix anything that will encumber that.

During the online beta, there will initially be four playable characters to choose from and these combatants are Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Jacqui Briggs and Johnny Cage. However, the list will get longer as the event progresses.

Players who were logged in for more than an hour can apply for the "Mortal Kombat X" enhanced online beta. To register, gamers should visit the beta site NetherRealm Studios especially created for the event starting Jan. 19.

At the moment, it does not look like the website is live, although gamers should be on the lookout when it does, since not everyone will be able to secure a spot in the online beta.

As fans await the "multi-week" event, they can check out "Kombat Pack 2" addition Leatherface from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in a bloody battle against Xenomorph from "Alien" in a newly released gameplay footage.
