Abortion is a big moral decision. It involves killing an innocent unborn child—one from the mother's own flesh and blood. It violates Christian teachings, first and foremost God's commandment that "Thou shall not kill."

Most women who seek abortion, however, are just confused and will choose to keep their unborn babies if given proper help, according to the leader of the pro-life group, Heartbeat of Miami.

Martha Avila, who has been helping women with unplanned pregnancies since 2007, shared that based on her experiences, these pregnant women only seek abortion out of fear.

"The majority of them come in afraid, they don't know what to do, confused," Avila explained.

She said a lot of women going through an unplanned pregnancy just "are not informed when they are going through this crisis."

Avila estimated that 92 percent of these pregnant mothers will choose life over killing their own child if given the proper information.

Heartbeat of Miami provides these essential pieces of information needed by women with unplanned pregnancies to choose the right path.

"Miami-Dade County is number one in our nation per capita in abortion and abortion providers. Even though Hispanics and African Americans are a minority, they've formed the majority of the abortions in our country," Avila said.

"We see over 15-to-20 women a day at each one of our clinics," she added.

The pro-life advocate shared that her experience with a close teenage friend who had an unplanned pregnancy inspired her to help women who are experiencing the same problem.

"At that moment, she was on her way to get an abortion. My father took her in, and we were a family to her,"Avila said.

"Since that moment, I realised a woman with an unplanned pregnancy, a woman in crisis, needs support definitely, not an abortion," she added.
