Officials investigating the murder of Courtland, Mississippi teen Jessica Chambers have not been able to identify any suspects a week after she was found on fire.

Chambers' funeral is taking place on Saturday, but her family said they feel like the 19-year-old is still with them and her mother feels her daughter's soul is not at rest.  

"I feel her here," Chambers' mother, Lisa, told the Associated Press on Thursday. "She's not at ease. When she gets her justice, then she'll be at ease."

The former softball player and cheerleader told her mother that she was going to buy something to eat and clean out her car on Saturday around 6pm.

Surveillance footage shows the teen putting gas in her car that night, and talking on her cell phone at the gas station. Chambers was familiar with the station attendant, and told him that she was going to make a stop before going home.

About an hour later, she was attacked.

"They squirted lighter fluid down her throat and in her nose, and apparently they knocked her out," her father, Ben Chambers, explained. "She had a big gash on top of her head."

Chambers and her car were set on fire.

"When the fire department got there, she was walking down the road on fire... only part of her body that wasn't burned was the bottom of her feet," Ben Chambers, a Panola Country Sheriff's Department employee, told reporters.

Still conscious, Chambers allegedly gave emergency officials information about her attackers, but police say they have no leads. The US Marshals Service added $10,000 to the $1,000 in reward money offered for information on the case, and investigators hope that someone will come forward.

"There's just not a lot of street talk out there about who may or may not have done this," District Attorney John Champion said in a news conference. "We feel like somebody out there has heard something."

A large crowd is expected at her funeral at the Wells Funeral Home in nearby Batesville on Saturday.

In the midst of such grief, Lisa Chambers is leaning on her faith.  

"I had a lady call and pray with me and my dog started barking at the couch beside me and it was a strange feeling and I knew it was Jessica," she told WMC Action News 5.
