Moto 360 apps: Customizable watch face available now

Motorola's Moto 360 is one of the most popular wearable devices launched earlier this year, and it offers a sleek watch face.  It does not have to always maintain its classic look, however.

Because of the updated Motorola Connect app for Android, Moto 360 users can now customize their own watch faces. They can easily do this by loading an image of their choice from their smartphones for the background, then pick from a roster of different dials and tick marks to complete the watch face.

But for those who have no background to upload, they can opt to use the pre-made watch faces that are installed in the memory, and then customize it with the pre-selected tick marks and dials that come with the device.

The mobile company unveiled this new feature a week ago, during the media launch of Moto 360's new watch bands as well as the built-in fitness app that is dubbed as the Moto Body. All these new apps can be downloaded through Moto Connect.

Motorola's wearable device comes in a stainless case with leather, silver, and gold bands. Its highly functional display is made from 1.56-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen with a 320 x 290 pixel resolution. It is also equipped with the TI OMAP 3 processor.

Aside from the customizable watch face, the Moto G also has a built-in pedometer as well as a heart rate monitor which are ideal for those who want to watch their health. It also has a voice recognition feature.

Just recently, AT&T announced that it will start selling the metal and leather bands separately. The network carrier will sell the black and silver metal straps for $80, while the classic brown, black, and grey leather straps have a tag price of $30 each.

Meanwhile, Android Central recently reported that T-Mobile will also begin selling the Moto 360 wearable smartwatches starting Nov. 12.
