Moto 360 vs Pebble Time vs Apple Watch: Two wearables to take on pricey Apple Watch

With the commencement of the pre-order period for the much-hyped Apple Watch prior to its official release on April 24, fans are flocking to numerous Apple Stores to sample and test the wearable. However, much of the tech community, particularly those who value specs more than the brand, might find the range of the Apple Watch's price to be a bit too steep for their taste.

Apple is just one of the many brands that entered the wearable market though. With a score of other companies making their marks on the wearables market, there are other peripherals that users can choose from without breaking the bank.

Moto 360

Moto 360

The Moto 360 is an Android Wear from tech giant Motorola. The good thing about this smartwatch, aside from being budget-friendly, is that there are a number of customization options using the Moto Maker. On the website, users can change the color, watch faces, even the straps, to customize their own Moto 360 to their preferences.

The Moto 360 is available on the Motorola website for $249, and is currently on sale on Amazon for $179.

Pebble Time

One of the drawbacks for the Apple Watch is the power, as the battery life just promises at least a day or two of mid-range usage on a single charge. Not so with the Pebble Time.

The Pebble Time lasts a whole week on a single charge, owing to the design of the e-ink display, which saves power. With a built-in accelerometer and ambient light sensor, the wearable is also supported on both Android and iOS, and comes with a variety of downloadle apps and watch faces. The Pebble Time is one of the devices which ushered in the era of smart wearables.
