The Moto Droid Turbo 2 is said to be lined up for a July 28 release date.

The phone is also rumored to be heading to Verizon Wireless upon its release.

News of the new phone and its imminent release date came from a chance sighting in a Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to Yibada. Given the nature of the document itself, many are assuming that this means the Moto Droid Turbo 2 will be launched in the United States.

The FCC document is also giving people early an insight into what features the new phone may have. Right now, they are seeing features such as an 802.11ac MiMo WiFi along with Long-Term Evolution (LTE) advanced capabilities and even support being provided for turbo charging.

As for the other features of the Moto Droid Turbo 2, it is said to have what is either a rubber or plastic back panel, giving it added durability. The phone's rear camera also comes with a LED flash right below it to help users take better pictures with the phone.

Other rumored features for the phone include an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor combined with an Adreno 430 chip. Users can also expect the Moto Droid Turbo 2 to come equipped with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system (OS) as soon as they begin using it.

It is worth noting that Motorola has not confirmed any of the details contained in the leak as of yet, although some are also pointing to another bit of news as evidence that the Moto Droid Turbo 2 is set to come out very soon.

According to Autoomobile, the predecessor of the Moto Droid Turbo 2, which would be the Moto Droid Turbo, has just recently received an OS update, meaning it now uses the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Not all Moto Droid Turbo owners are happy with the update however, as some are even reporting more problems related to their phones than before.

Motorola has already promised to work on fixing its latest update.
