Moto E (Gen 2) release date at Mobile World Congress as another leak spotted

Moto E

The second generation of the low-cost Moto E could be on its way sooner as the device was allegedly spotted online.

Technology blog Android Police got hold of the alleged photo of the cheap Motorola smartphone. The photo of the Moto E sequel showed upgrades from the previous version. Based on the snapshot, there is a change in the design language making it similar to the looks of Moto G. Based on the shape of the on-screen navigation buttons, the handset will run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

The photo also showed some of the features of the smartphone such as a single speaker grill. It seemed that the next Moto E will let go of the bottom speaker and the stereo sound of its predecessor. Moreover, the back camera has no LED flash support.

What is under the hood was not revealed by the new leak, but other features of the alleged second generation of Moto E are 4.3-inch qHD (960x540p) display, quad-core processor, 5.0-megapixel camera, 4G-LTE support and other standard connectivity features.

One of the attractive features of Moto E is its friendly price tag. The handset costs around $150 due to its lower grade specs and features. But this extremely low price for the smartphone is perfect for first time smartphone users.

The 2nd gen Moto E is purported to be launched at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2015 happening in Barcelona kicking off on March 2. However, there is no official word from Motorola yet whether it will release the smartphone soon.

Meanwhile, Motorola's business is picking up as the company sold more than 3 million devices in India alone. The company used online selling via Flipkart to sell its products. Motorola also has plans to set up 10 service centers and service vans in India where the brand gained popularity.
