Motorola is expected to lift the veil off the Moto G 2015 this year. While the Lenovo-owned tech firm has not confirmed its existence, media outlets go back to the statements of Lenovo chief executive Yang Yuanqing, who said that "very exciting products" are going to be launched this summer.

It is widely believed that a new and improved version of the Moto G is in the lineup and according to Day Herald, the third generation handset is coming really soon. How soon? The site surmises that its release is scheduled as early as next month.

Online Indian-based retailer Flipkart accidentally published a listing of the handset weeks back, which had many thinking that the smartphone may be on its way after all and that it is closer than anyone expected. A July release date falls nicely in place with that slip-up considered.

As for the specs of the Moto G 2015, media outlets say that it may come with a 5- to 5.2-inch display, which will render a 1080p resolution. Under the hood lies an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz along with 2 GB RAM.

The Flipkart listing, which was quickly taken down by the retailer, stated that the device will offer 8 GB storage and it will come in a nice-looking white-dipped back cover. Other reports add that it will also come in a 16 GB flavor, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

There was no mention of other details but rumor mills have filled in the gap with Moto G (3rd Gen) allegedly sporting a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. The device may even offer an 8-megapixel shooter on the front for lovers of selfies.

With its purported release, the Moto G 2015 is expected to run Android Lollipop, presumably the latest 5.1 version. Connectivity-wise, the handset will have users enjoy 4G LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.0 and a microUSB connection.

All of this will be seen, hopefully, when the month of July kicks in.
