There are speculations that a new Moto X 2015 is heading to the Mobile World Congress in March despite the fact that an updated version of the smartphone was released only last September.

According to Twitter user and Sony tipster Ricciolo, Motorola has plans of unveiling a major smartphone soon. Although the tipster did not reveal the smartphone and the launch date of the device, it is speculated that it will be the successor to the Moto X, and with the Mobile World Congress event coming up, many are guessing that it will be released at the trade show.

"Are you looking for a FLAGSHIP 'SMARTER' than any others 'smartphones'??? I can give you an 'HINT'... Coming Soon..." the Twitter post reads.

Meanwhile, if rumors prove to be true, then a new Moto X will not be the only smartphone to be showcased at the MWC. Tech blog Android Police spotted the alleged photo of a low-end Motorola smartphone or the probable successor to the Moto E. The smartphone has better specs compared to its predecessor. Based on the photo, upgrades include a change in the design language making it similar to the looks of Moto G. The shape of the on-screen navigation buttons hint that the handset will run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Moreover, the photo shows a single speaker grille and the back camera has no LED flash support.

Other rumored features of the alleged second generation Moto E are 4.3-inch qHD (960x 540 pixels) display, quad-core processor, 5.0-megapixel camera, 4G-LTE support and other standard connectivity features. Moto E has become popular because of its affordable price. The current handset costs around $150 due to its lower grade specs and features.

Motorola has been doing well since Lenovo took it under its wings and it is only natural for it to try to gain as much attention as it can at the fast approaching MWC event. According to reports, the company sold more than 3 million devices in India alone.
