Companies like Samsung, LG, HTC, Xiaomi and several others have unveiled their flagship smartphones, while Motorola is yet to announce its own for 2015. According to Slash Gear, the company will be looking to unveil its upcoming handset during the month of September, which is the same month when Moto X 2014 was officially announced running Snapdragon 801. As for the hardware specifications, it is expected that the firm will be following in the same footsteps as LG, and incorporate a Snapdragon 808 instead of Snapdragon 810.

However, according to an earlier report, it is suggested that Motorola is not working on one, but two Moto X smartphones that are going to be unveiled during the later months of 2015. One handset will be powered by Snapdragon 808, while the other is going to be running Snapdragon 810. Similar to its previous flagship smartphones, Motorola will refrain from incorporating a MicroSD card, but might increase the on-board storage value to 64 or 128 GB so that smartphone users do not run in to memory issues in the near future.

Perhaps one of the biggest upgrades present on the upcoming device will be its 16 MP rear camera sensor. The camera sensor will obscure the capabilities of the 13 MP shooter present on Moto X 2014, and this one will feature an OIS chip to stabilize photographs for a better result. The battery pack will be increased from 2,300 mAh in Moto X 2014, to 3,280 mAh. Since Snapdragon 808 will be running more cores compared to Snapdragon 801, it will warrant a larger battery.

Currently, it is unconfirmed whether Motorola's upcoming smartphone will be running Android M or an updated version of Android Lollipop. Since the company's handsets are the first lineup of devices to receive Google's timely operating system updates, it can be speculated that the handset will be running Android M.

Unfortunately, those are the only details present regarding Motorola's flagship offering. Additional updates will be provided when the company gears up to officially announce Moto X 2015.
