Moto X Force release date, specs roundup: Leaks point to December launch

After news of the alleged official name of a new Motorola device made the rounds online, the release date of the rumored Moto X Force is now widely-talked about. Earlier referred to as the Motorola Bounce, the new smartphone will be released in December, if the report uploaded in Weibo turns out to be true.

First seen by MobiPicker, the leaked information was posted by @upleaks, the same tipster who first revealed the Motorola Bounce's specs and its official name. This time, the prolific tipster revealed that the device might come out sometime in December and it will sell for 4000 CNY or approximately $628.

Based on the rumored price tag, the upcoming Moto X Force can be considered as the next flagship product of the Schaumburg, Illinois-based mobile phone manufacturer.

The rumored specs of the Moto X Force include a bright 5.43-inch 2K Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 810 octa-core chip clocked at 2 GHz, a 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM, as well as 32 GB or 64 GB internal memory that can be expanded using the built-in microSD slot. It will also allegedly have a 21-megapixel primary camera with a zero shutter delay support and a 5-megapixel front-facing secondary camera with LED flash.

But the most interesting feature of the device is its "shatterproof" description. Currently, there is no clear information on what shatterproof is all about, but as NDTV Gadgets pointed out, it means that the device might have a MIL-STD rating, which pertains to military defense standard or the capability to hold up under different conditions.

The official confirmation from Motorola about the reported Moto X Force is still unavailable at the moment.
