Motorola Mobility seems to be on a roll when it comes to unveiling smartphone products.

On Sept. 5, the company released the second-generation of their popular smartphone line called Moto X. It offers a lot of improved features compared to its predecessor that was launched in August 2013.

Then on Oct. 28, Motorola Mobility offered the Moto DROID Turbo to the public, which is the very first product that was launched by the company after Lenovo purchased it from Motorola Inc. It is exclusively distributed by Verizon network in the U.S., but talks are rife that it will be released worldwide under the name Moto DROID Maxx.

But which between these new Moto smartphones is worth buying?  Here is a comparison between the two Motorola Mobility devices:

Display and Dimension

The 40.8 x 72.4 x 10-millimeter water resistant Moto X weighs 144 grams, and comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 424 ppi pixel density.

The slightly bigger Moto DROID Turbo has a 143.5 x 73.3 x 8.3 - 11.2 millimeter splash resistant body and weighs 169 grams. It also has a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and 565 ppi pixel density.

Internal Features

Moto X contains a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset with quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. The internal memory varies, with the option of a 16 GB or 32 GB models, but both have 2 GB RAM.

Meanwhile, the Moto DROID Turbo has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 and Adreno 420 GPU. The internal memory options include 32 GB and 64 GB models, both with 3 GB RAM.

Both the Moto X and Moto DROID Turbo run using Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system, but they can soon be updated with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Camera

Relatively, the 13-megapixel primary rear-end camera with dual LED flash and autofocus and 2-megapixel secondary front camera of Moto X can be considered as a powerful smartphone feature. But Moto DROID X's 21-megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus and its 2-megapixel secondary camera beat its cousin by a long shot.

Battery life

This is what the Moto DROID Turbo is known for. With its 3900 mAh non-removable battery that lasts up to 48 hours on a single charge, it is very impressive compared to the Li-Ion 2300 mAh battery of Moto X that only lasts up to seven and a half hours.

Obviously, the newer, more high-end Moto DROID Turbo has the better battery compared to the second-gen Moto X.
