Motorola's VP hinted that Moto X+1 will come with a Full HD screen display.

It all started when users complained about a bug in three Motorola devices - Moto X, Moto G and Moto E. The bug brings up the Carrier ID in the notification bar of their devices. Then, Motorola's vice president for product management, Punit Soni, shared a screenshot and said that the bug fix for the aforementioned issues will come in the new Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS update.

However, the screenshot shared by the Motorola exec shows a screen display with Full HD resolution. This immediately sparked rumors that the screen is from the alleged Moto X+1 smartphone. Moto X+1 is suspected to be the successor of Moto X.

Reports claimed that Moto X+1 release date will be by the end of summer. Latest word of mouth says that Motorola's smartphone will be released in the last week of September. This is fueled by the tweet of Motorola Mobility in February saying that the next generation of Moto X will be launched in late summer. However, the company did not provide any hint on the particular date of the release of the handset.

To add fuel to the fire, reliable tipster @evleaks backed up the release date rumors. Reports added that Motorola is waiting for the Moto X to eclipse a full year in order to maximize profits from the handset.

Rumor has it that Moto X+1 will pack a 5.2MP AMOLED screen with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080 as well as a Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. The handset will also pack a 12MP rear camera. Moto X+1 will be available in 16GB and 32GB of internal storage variants but will also come with a microSD slot for additional external storage. Lastly, the handset was rumored to run with Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS but it is yet to be seen whether it will pack the upcoming 4.5 version of Android OS.
