Moto X+1 or the Moto X2 release date will be on September 4 and will be launched alongside Moto G and Moto 360.

Motorola is currently sending out invitations for its press event in Chicago on the aforementioned date. In the said event, the company is expected to unveil its latest products. Based on the photo attached to the invitation, it hinted that it will release a new Moto X and G as well as its rumored smartwatch – Moto 360.

After its announcement, the handset is rumored to hit the carriers and retail stores in the same month. Verizon Wireless stated that the carrier is expecting the delivery of Motorola's new flagship phone by Sept. 25. However, there is a chance that other carriers will get their hands on the new Moto X handset earlier.

According to rumors, Moto X+1 will pack a 5.2" display that offers 1080x1920p resolution. The next gen Moto X handset will come with a 1080p full HD display and slimmer bezel. This is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD support, 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter, and 2900mAh battery. However, Motorola has not revealed the official specs and features of the new Moto X handset.

On the other hand, there is no word about the smartwatch Moto 360, which is set to be the first smartwatch to sport a round face design, and claimed to be one of the best designs among Android devices so far. It will compete with LG's G Watch and Samsung's Gear Live. Both smartwatches pack a rectangular design.

According to the blog post of Motorola, "Moto 360 sets itself apart with a design that reimagines time for the modern era - a distinctive round display, carefully chosen materials, and fine craftsmanship all while keeping you on track and up to date without taking you out of the moment."
