Although leaks featuring a new addition to the Moto Z flagship continue to make their rounds, Lenovo has yet to confirm a launch for the upcoming Moto Z Play. However, speculations suggest that the new flagship iteration may debut early next week.

According to Phone Arena, rumors say that the Moto Z Play will launch on Sept. 6. While Lenovo, which has already acquired Motorola Mobility, has yet to confirm this, the leaks and specs details on the Moto Z Play support the speculations that the flagship is coming out soon.

Based on the supposed leaked images, the Moto Z Play will also support the MotoMod add-ons, although the upcoming iteration is said to be a lower version in the Moto Z series. The supposed specs list for the Moto Z Play reveals that the upcoming addition will have a Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. As for the modular accessories, it is unclear if the Moto Z Play will have its own lineup, or if the MotoMods series already released for the Moto Z and Moto Z Force will also be compatible.

Meanwhile, one noted change for the Moto Z Play is that Lenovo has brought back the 3.5mm audio jack. The first two releases, the base model Moto Z and the Moto Z Force, launched without the feature.

Other purported specs of the Moto Z Play include Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box, although it can be expected to receive the new Android Nougat platform; 32GB onboard memory, expected to be expandable via microSD; a 16MP main camera with 4K video capture and a 5MP selfie shooter; and 3,510 mAh battery. On the leaks coming from China, it is reflected that the Moto Z Play has a price tag of 3299 Yuan, or around $495.
