Although Lenovo has yet to confirm if another flagship addition is on the way, speculations suggest that a Play edition for the Moto Z lineup will launch soon.

Rumors on the Moto Z Play keep circulating online. The latest of these say real-life images of the upcoming Moto Z addition have been spotted, showing some of the previous details on the new iteration.

According to Android Authority, while the purported Moto Z Play will launch with almost similar designs as its Moto Z cousins, one noted change in the new addition is that it will have a glass back panel, unlike the metal-clad frame for the original Moto Z and Moto Z Force.

Meanwhile, most of the aesthetics, like the camera bump and a slim body design, remain. The images also reveal that the Moto Z Play will have the same port connectors at the back, which means this version will also support the modular add-ons called MotoMod. It is unclear however, if the Moto Z Play will have its own add-on lineup, or if the MotoMods for the flagship devices will be compatible.

However, the Moto Z Play is also rumored to divert from the signature design of the Moto Z series. Previous images point out that Lenovo will be bringing back the 3.5mm audio jack to the new iteration, a feature conspicuously absent on the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.

Aside from the supposed images, alleged specs and features of the Moto Z Play have been leaked, as per a certification listing from a China-based agency. The Moto Z Play is set to feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with full HD resolution, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage. While the certification did not list the model for its octa-core, 2 GHz processor, some observers believe that being a lower iteration, the Moto Z Play will most likely carry a Snapdragon 625 chipset.
