Moto Z Play release date, specs: New device appears in TENAA listing; Images leaked online
It is rumored that Lenovo is adding a Play version of its newly launched Moto Z lineup and it may launch soon. The speculations seem right as images and specs of the supposed Moto Z Play surface online.
TechDroider has released leaked images of the upcoming Moto Z Play variant, and the industry follower mentioned that the images show that the Moto Z Play will have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. In addition, although it is said that the Moto Z Play is a modest version of the series, it seems that the Moto Mods add-ons will still be compatible with the upcoming iteration. Much like the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, the Moto Z Play also has the connector pins at the bottom back of the device.
Prior to the leaked images, the supposed specs of the Moto Z Play have already made their rounds online. According to speculations based on a "leaked" TENAA certification listing, the Moto Z Play will have almost the same dimensions as the flagships, and will feature a 5.5-inch screen. However, as a step-down variant, the Moto Z Play will only display full HD resolution against the Quad HD screens of its flagship lineups. Meanwhile, it is rumored that the new addition will carry an octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset with 3GB of RAM. Onboard storage is pegged at 64GB, and it is said to be expandable via microSD.
For its features, the Moto Z Play is said to sport a 16MP main shooter at the back, an in-between setup against the 13MP shooter on the Moto Z and the 21MP camera on the Moto Z Force. However, as with the flagships, the Moto Z Play can still capture adequate images, and is also said to feature 4K video capture.
