Fans of Motorola's Verizon-exclusive Droid lineup will have a reason to celebrate before the month ends, as it is reported that there will be an unveiling on Oct. 27. Reportedly, Verizon and Motorola will unveil their new Droid flagships in the said event.

According to industry follower CNET, the event has been confirmed, as Verizon has already sent out press invites for the gathering. The invite teased a number of exciting updates, and one of them will be the introduction of multiple new Droid smartphones. Droid Life reported that the event will take place on Oct. 27 in New York City. Additionally, it was also mentioned that aside from the much-rumored successor to the Droid Turbo flagship, Verizon and Motorola will also unveil Maxx 2.

According to rumors, the Droid Maxx 2 is the Verizon-exclusive version of another Motorola flagship, the Moto X Play. If it will be like the new X Play, then Verizon subscribers can expect the Maxx 2 to have the same 5.5-inch full HD display. In addition, it will run on a Snapdragon 615 processor with 2 GB of RAM and a combination of 21- and 5-MP main and front cameras. Also, the battery will be the same, a considerable 3630 mAh one.

Meanwhile, it has already been stated in numerous speculations that the upcoming Droid Turbo 2 will be the next flagship for the Verizon/Motorola partnership. The successor to the original Droid will apparently have a 5.5-inch QHD display. Also, since the Droid 2 will be a premiere device, it will have a Snapdragon 810 chipset partnered with 3 GB of RAM. There will also be other features such as a 20-MP rear camera, a 5-MP selfie cam on the front, and the latest Android platform. However, it is unclear if the next Droid Turbo will run the newly released Android 6.0 or the previous 5.1.1 Lollipop version.
