Motorola's Droid TurboMotorola

The arrival of Motorola's Droid Turbo 2 may not be too far away as the phone is expected to make its official debut as early as this month.

To be more specific, people waiting for the Droid Turbo 2 should expect its arrival right around Oct. 23, according to Geek Snack.

Motorola will reportedly launch the Droid Turbo 2 during an event on that very date, although where it will take place is a mystery to this point. It's also believed that Motorola will launch the Droid Maxx 2 alongside the Droid Turbo 2.

As of now, the Oct. 23 release date or even the event supposedly taking place on that day have yet to be confirmed as Motorola has remained silent on this issue.

Interestingly enough, other news outlets are predicting an even earlier release date for the new phone.

According to NDTV, the Droid Turbo 2 could make its official debut as early as Oct. 15, although this too has yet to be confirmed.

Still, with possible release dates now on the calendar, it's worth taking a closer look at the Droid Turbo 2 to see whether or not its impending arrival even warrants attention.

At first glance, it appears the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, at the very least, deserves a second look. Its currently rumored collection of specs and features would seemingly characterize it as a high-end smartphone.

Beginning with its processor, the Droid Turbo 2 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 810 that will then be paired together with 3 GB of RAM.

The Droid Turbo 2 will come with two different options in terms of internal storage, with one at 32 GB and the other doubling that at 64 GB. Motorola's new phone is also expected to have a 5.43-inch QHD display.

The Droid Turbo 2 will also feature a 21-megapixel rear camera that will be joined by one up front at five megapixels.

All detailed specs of the phone to this point are still unconfirmed.
