Lenovo will soon be launching a shatter-proof variant of the Moto X Force, the international variant of the Moto Droid Turbo 2.

According to Gadgets 360, Motorola India has started sending out invitations to a launch event on Feb.1, 2016 in Gurgaon where the shatter-proof Moto X Force will be unveiled. The most popular feature of the handset is the "Shattershield," an flexible Amoled screen with an Aluminium rigid core and dual-layer touchscreen panels that is said to be virtually impossible to shatter unintentionally.

The Shattershield is an integrated system composed of five layers of materials that help absorb forces that the handset screen is exposed to. An external lens, an integrated lens, a double layer touch, an AMOLED screen and the Aluminum core all make up the handset's screen system.

The Moto X Force also features a 5.4-inch QHD display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution, and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset clocked at 2 GHz. The handset comes in either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal memory and is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card slot.

The Moto X Force currently runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware supports standard connectivity options including a single-SIM with 4G LTE (Cat. 4), Wi-Fi 802.11ac and others.

The back-facing camera has a 21-megapixel resolution and f/2.0 aperture accompanied by a dual-LED flash and Phase Detect Autofocus feature. The front facing camera has 5 megapixels. The battery has a 3760 mAh capacity, allowing for up to 36 hours of smartphone life, and quick charging support.

According to a teaser video on the shatter-proof Moto X Force, 1 out of 3 smartphone users are victim to screen shattering, and that 40 percent of phone users say they would rather stub a toe than crack a screen.

The Moto X Force was first launched in the United Kingdom with a price tag of GBP 499, or roughly about Rs. 49,900, for the 32 GB variant. The 64 GB variant sold higher at GBP 534 or roughly Rs. 53,400.
