Motorola will release their latest phone product, the Moto X4, in the United States on Oct. 26 and the starting rate is $399. Critics and potential buyers are weighing on its specs and new features in order to determine whether it is a great product offered with a good deal.

One of the main features that Motorola highlights about this phone is its IP68-rated water-resistant design safeguards. Just like in most Android phone products, the Moto X4 has the intelligent personal assistant voice command, Amazon Alexa. The X4's processor is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630 chipset. The Moto X4 comes with dual-rear camera system that is able to capture great landscape and portrait pictures. Motorola made use of the photography idea called bokeh or the selective focus effect and decided to apply it to their newest product.

Other internal and external specs include a 3 GB random access memory (RAM), 32 GB microSD storage, Corning "Gorilla" Glass display, Android™ 7.1, Nougat operating system, Global Positioning System (GPS), Bluetooth technology, and more.

Moto X4 runs with Google's Project Fi and is the first non-Google phone to be offered. Many technology experts are waiting for other new Android One phones in the United States to be released with Project Fi as well.

One issue for most critics is the lack of MotoMods or Moto modules. Motorola's MotoMods were a big hit among customers when the company released their Moto Z models. PC World pointed out that the battery life of Moto X4 is not that sophisticated but is not lacking either.

Moto X4 will hit the market with a $399. Compared to Moto Z2 Force edition sold at $720, many experts believe that the Moto X4 starting price is just right, given that it doesn't come with any free MotoMods. However, according to other feedback, $399 is a little too much given that most of the camera features are not innovative.
