Can the world survive even after the downfall of E Corp in the final episode of "Mr. Robot" season 1?

In the first season finale of USA Network's critically-acclaimed techno drama-thriller, civil discord emerges after the FSociety announces on TV that the next opening bell of the stock market is going to mark the beginning of the demise of one of the world's biggest companies, the E Corp or the Evil Corp.

The people of New York are dumbfounded after learning that the Evil Corp is about to go down, and chaos begins to erupt on the streets. One of the people who seems surprised upon learning the Evil Corp's fate is Elliot (Rami Malek), despite his group, FSociety, being responsible for the company's destruction.

Elliot's concerned sister Darlene (Carly Chaikin) confronts him and asks where he'd been as chaos and protests intensify on the streets.

The trailer for the finale shows an intense scene between Elliot and Mr. Robot (Christian Bale). Angela (Portia Doubleday) is also present in the footage, but the ruthless E Corp executive Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström) is noticeably absent. In the end, Elliot begins to question what he did in the past that led to the situation that he is currently in.

"Mr. Robot" is considered as one of the breakthrough series of the year. Critics applauded the show's brilliant photography, accuracy in all the technological elements of the plot, as well as the outstanding performance of the cast.

Because of the positive response for the show's pilot premiere – aired in several online and video-on-demand service providers – from critics and the audience alike, the groundbreaking psychological techno-thriller was already in for a second season right before the first season began airing in USA Network back on June 24.

The season 1 finale of "Mr. Robot" is slated to air on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
