"Mr. Robot" season 2 will tackle the issue of Elliot (Rami Malek) dealing with the revelation that Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) is just an image in his head as he is the real Mr. Robot. However, not only will he deal with his own identity issues and memories but he will have to face the return of White Rose, leader of the Dark Army.

Actor B.D. Wong, who portrays hacker White Rose, was recently confirmed to be reprising his role in a report from TV Insider. Show creator Sam Esmail confirmed this bit himself, further emphasizing the struggle that Elliot will go through both internally and externally when season 2 premieres.

"He was so amazing in the first season, I would be stupid not to use him more this season," Esmail explained. "But I do have to use him sparingly because he's got such a great mystery around him."

The mystery of White Rose and the power of the Dark Army may be the officially stated reason but many fans also speculate that the reason season 2 will not have White Rose appear as often as desired is because Wong is currently busy with his schedule portraying the villain Hugo Strange in "Gotham."

Although the conflict between Elliot and White Rose will escalate in season 2, Esmail also confirmed that the convoluted and cloudy timeline of events that has led to the point the series is in now will be made clear by the end of season 2, although there will still be a few key plot points left hanging for future seasons to explore.

Esmail explained that more backstory will be explored and these flashbacks may not just be about Elliot. Some of these flashbacks may reveal the formation of the Dark Army and the history Elliot/Mr. Robot has with White Rose.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is expected to premiere this June.
