Elliot Alderson's (Rami Malek) battle to regain control of his thoughts against the imaginary Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) continues in the third episode of "Mr. Robot" season 2.

In the two-hour premiere of the sophomore season of USA Network's sci-fi thriller, viewers found out that Elliot is already living with his mother and goes through a strict regimen in order to keep his mind free from the influence of Mr. Robot. But the fragment of his imagination who took the form of his late father continues to be persistent, which means that he just cannot shake it off from his mind.

Meanwhile, his sister Darlene (Carly Chaikin) took over the leadership of fsociety, but she might find it extra challenging because of its overly enthusiastic members.

At the end of the first season, fsociety managed to hack the system of ECorp to shut it down. But the multinational company is starting to slowly recover from the attack, which means that the hacktivists must continue to find a way to defeat the monster corporation once again.

But while the fsociety is busy coming up with ways to drag down ECorp once again, Elliot's childhood friend Angela (Portia Doubleday) will be seen having fun at her new job as the PR consultant for ECorp. This could be surprising, since she almost had the same vision as the members of fsociety back in the first season. But Angela may also have an agenda of her own and hatching her own plans to defeat ECorp from the inside.

The official synopsis for episode 3, titled "eps2.1k3rnel-pan1c.ksd," reads:

"Elliot is determined to beat Mr. Robot and regain control of his mind, but the task proves difficult. Meanwhile, Angela gets a view behind the scenes at Evil Corp."

The episode airs on the USA Network on Wednesday, July 20.
