Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) may have successfully brought down the E Corp with the fsociety hackers, but his battles continue when "Mr. Robot" returns in July for season 2.

USA Network unveiled the premiere date for "Mr. Robot" season 2 with the release of a new teaser, showing a hint of where Elliot and his imaginary companion Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) are heading after they managed to destroy the multinational E Corp.

According to the network, "Season two picks up after fsociety's 5/9 hack on Evil Corp and will explore the consequences of the attack, as well as the illusion of control."

During the SXSW event in March, series creator/director Sam Esmail teased the plot for the upcoming season. "Elliot committed a crime and we're going to see the ramifications of that this season," Esmail stated. "That's why you see that introduction of law enforcement, which you deliberately didn't see the first season."

Esmail also revealed that the timeline of season 2 will be clearer compared to the previous season, and it will get darker as the story progresses.

The second season of "Mr. Robot" will show the return of Portia Doubleday in her role as Elliot's childhood friend Angela, Carly Chaikin as Elliot's sister Darlene, Martin Wallström as E Corp's Senior Vice President of Technology Tyrell Wellick, Michael Cristofer as E Corp's CEO Phillip Price, as well as Stephanie Corneliussen as Tyrell's wife Joanna.

The cast will be joined by Craig Robinson, who will portray the role of a New York local named Ray, as well as rapper Joey Bada$$ as Elliot's new friend Leon.

"Fear The Walking Dead" star Sandrine Holt, "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" star Michael Maize, "Run All Night" star Dorothi Fox, and "The Americans" star Luke Robertson also landed recurring roles in the series.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 premieres on the USA Network on Wednesday, July 13.
