The surprise hit USA Network series "Mr. Robot" will premiere its second season sometime in 2016 but it won't be long before viewers may get some hints as to what the next season will offer.

According to a report from Variety, the writers in Los Angeles have started pitching storylines, but the show will film the scenes in New York.

Season 2 will also be composed of 10 episodes, all of which will be directed by Sam Esmail, The Verge reported. Back in season 1, Esmail only directed three episodes but he penned five of them.

With Esmail on board for all episodes, it's expected that "Mr. Robot" will be more captivating than the previous season, considering the director/series creator has been praised for his brilliant work.

Meanwhile, details of season 2 have been kept pretty much under wraps, but that doesn't mean that fans won't pick up clues from teases given by Esmail and actor Rami Malek, who plays Elliot Alderson in the series.

Vulture reported that the series creator and actor shared some juicy bits about season 2 when the news outlet caught up with them during Independent Feature Project's (IFP) Gotham Independent Film Awards in November.

Careful not to spill some spoilers, Esmail hinted that viewers will be seeing more of BD Wong's Whiterose by saying that the actor was superb in his portrayal of a transgender character.

"I'd be a fool not to bring him back," Esmail said, according to Vulture. Malek also joined in with the teasing and revealed that season 2 won't "get any easier for any one of the characters on the show," especially for Elliot.

The actor added that he wants to bring authenticity to the character and the only way he can achieve that is by giving his full attention to the project.

With Esmail and Malek very committed to the project, fans can expect that they're going to be in for an exciting time with "Mr. Robot" season 2.

USA Network has not set an exact release date for season 2, but the show is expected to premiere in summer and later than the premiere date of the first season, according to Variety.
