Nokia N1, Xperia Z4 tablet, Lenovo TAB 2 among tablets announced at MWC 2015

The Mobile World Congress this year held in Barcelona, Spain is a mishmash of all the best each tech giant has to offer. It was the venue chosen by a number of companies, including Nokia, Sony and Lenovo, to let the public know that their tablets are the ones to watch out for this year.

This slate was announced late last year at the Slush Conference in Helsinki, but the company chose this year's MWC to announce their tablet details to the worldwide tech community. The N1 has been available for some time in China, but no details has been released yet for Europe and U.S. release.

The device has a 2048 x 1536 resolution screen on 7.9 inches of display. It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel camera on the front, both capable of 1080p video. Inside, it runs on a 2.3 GHz Intel Atom processor with 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage, and a PowerVR graphics chip. Power-wise, it has a 5300 mAh battery. It comes bundled with Lollipop, and also features the new Nokia Z launcher platform.

Xperia Z4 Tablet

Sony Mobile

The Xperia Z4 is the focus of Sony's MWC participation. This 10-inch wonder is slimmer and lighter than last year's model, measuring just 6.1 mm thin and weighs 392 grams. Running with an octa-core Snapdragon processor, it has 2K display at 250 x 1600 IPS resolution. It also meets IP68 standards, making it water and dust resistant. The tablet also features a capless microUSB charging point, an improvement over last year's design.

The price and release date have yet to be established for the Z4, but Sony targets a spring release for this tablet.

Lenovo showed off three tablets simultaneously at this year's MWC — the TAB 2 A10-70, the TAB 2 A8, and the Ideapad MIIX 300.

The two TAB devices have a MediaTek quad-core processor, Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity, and Android OS. The Ideapad MIIX 300, meanwhile, runs Windows 8.1 on an Intel Atom processor and 64 GB of storage.

The TAB A8 will launch in April while the TAB A10-70 will be available starting June. The Ideapad is set to launch in July.
