Toho Animation recently announced season 3 of the superhero animated series "My Hero Academia" or "Boku No Hero Academia." The announcement was made during the Jump Festa convention during the weekend in Japan.

The animation studio has not announced any premiere date for season 3 so far. Fans of the anime are hoping for 26 episodes or more. The season 3 trailer revealed during Jump Festa focuses on the "School Trip" arc of the manga series that pits the students of Class 1-A against the League of Villains. In the upcoming arc, the students head to the forest in order to harness their quirks but are interrupted by a few members of the League of Villains. The trailer includes villains like Tomura Shigaraki, Dabi, Himiko Toga, and Kurogiri.

The video also shows Izuku Midoriya, Tenya Iida, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugo in the middle of a battle. The teaser also features a member of the professional hero team The Pussycats, Shino Sosaki aka Mandalay. There are no other reports or news from Toho about other new characters to be included in the third season. Based on the manga series, the "School Trip" arc mainly brings new villain characters.

The second season of the anime received great reviews and score ratings from fans and critics. Season 2 got a 9.5 out of 10 score from IGN and 8.8 out of 10 from My Anime List.

Season 2 of the anime is considred one of the best shows to be released in 2017. The second season is praised for execution of the story and development for a number of characters. Season 1 of the anime series also received positive feedback. The first season can now be binge-watched on Netflix.

Season 3 is scheduled to be released in April 2018. The first-ever movie of the anime will also debut next year.
