"Narcos" season 1 was one of the most highly acclaimed original series from Netflix in 2015 and it is speculated that the show will push forward with season 2 this year during the fall. According to a report from the Bitbag, it is most likely going to premiere on Aug. 26. 

According to the report, Netflix shows tend to premiere on a Friday as this has been the same practice done for their other original shows such as "House of Cards," "Daredevil" and "Orange Is the New Black." As per the usual for Netflix original series, it is expected that all 10 episodes of season 2 will be released simultaneously.

"Narcos" season 1 launched on Aug. 28 2015, which is notably the last Friday of the month. Should season 2 follow the same release pattern without delay then it may launch once again on the last Friday of August this year, which falls on Aug. 26. It is for this reason that many fans believe season 2 will premiere prior to September.

However, Netflix has yet to give an official statement regarding the current production status of "Narcos" season 2 and how the show is being handled now that the season 1 show runner had stepped down. Until Netflix gives an official release date the Aug. 26 premiere should still be taken as pure speculation. 

There is no official synopsis yet for season 2 but given how the series is based on the real life of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, it is widely speculated that season 2 will tackle his breakout from prison and his eventual attempt to hide from the authorities until he encountered several officers on the rooftops and committed suicide.

It was previously speculated that the show might push forward with a third season that tackles similar stories in other countries but according to the Ecumenical News it may be possible that season 2 will be the last season for the show, ending with the death of Escobar.
