"Narcos" was renewed by Netflix for a second season, but not a lot is known about the plotline, and fans around the globe have been clamouring to know what will happen next in the surprise hit.

The crime drama series tells the life story of Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura), Colombia's king of cocaine, as he is chased down by Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook), a DEA agent assigned to capture him.

Since the story is based on the life of the real Pablo Escobar, the notorious Colombian drug lord, there is a pretty good chance that an easy internet search on historical events would yield ideas on the plot for the upcoming season 2.

The real Escobar died in a gunfight in 1993, and since season 1 reportedly finished around 1991 or 1992, the end might be near for the cocaine kingpin.

According to Bustle, season 2 might highlight Escobar's fear of being extradited to the United States, which is apparently a "fate worse than death." Of course, since season 1 ended with Escobar's escape into the woods, season 2 might immediately pick up with the hunt for the criminal.

The second season might also see old enemies working together towards a common goal--that goal being the capture of Pablo Escobar. Some Cali Cartel members, with a group called Los Pepes, will join forces with Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook), Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal), the United States DEA, the US Navy SEALs, Delta Force and the ISA to form a team called "Search Bloc."

Moura recently took to Reddit to answer some fan questions. He expressed his delight in filming the final episodes saying, "I really enjoyed doing the last scenes in La Catedral during the final episodes (9 and 10)."

"On those episodes it was a different Pablo, he had changed... and that aims to what we are doing in the second season," he explained.

Netflix has not announced an official release date yet for season 2 of "Narcos."
