'Naruto' manga chapter 708 recap: Sarada's decision

Sarada as she appears in Boruto: Naruto the MovieShonen Jump

The latest chapter in "Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring" showcases Sarada re-thinking about her life and the people she cares about as she faces an important choice: is she going to save Sakura after learning that the latter is not her mother?

According to a report from the iDigital Times, the 708th chapter in the long running "Naruto" manga series focuses primarily on a scene between Naruto and Sarada. Naruto tries to tell the young Uchiha that since he's a Hokage, everyone in the village is now concerned a part of his family.

Naruto tells her that it is a message he tries to tell his son Boruto all the time and that this message was taught to him by the Third Hokage back when Naruto was young. However, Sarada dusts it off and claims that she always feels alone and that she would never be a part of any community or family.

In order to instill this message, he tries to teach her that bonds aren't just from blood relations — they are formed and strengthened by love. He tries to let her recall the good memories she has of her mother and this lets Sarada reconsider saving Sakura.

Chapter 708 also sees the return of Sasuke's Sharingan powers to full strength and now, the group is set to find Shin and Sakura.

At Shin's hideout, Sakura tells Shin that it's time to fight and never give up. She also states that Sasuke plans on interrogating the people behind this move and that is the only reason why they're still alive. The chapter concludes with Sakura preparing for battle.

iDigital Times points out that this may be a slower chapter compared to the rest of the Gaiden series — a side story series which will also tie in with the "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" film — but it does build up to the climax fans speculate will be showcased in the next chapter.
