The "Naruto Shippuden" anime is finally reverting back to canon after a load of filler episodes. Episode 469 titled "A Special Mission" will be the installment that steers the show back to the plot in its source material.

For several episodes, fans have followed the story of Ashura and Indra and their bid to become the heir to the Ninshu. Hagoromo has finally chosen his rightful successor, ending the arc in the previous episode.

According to some media outlets, it felt like the said story arc was ended rather hurriedly. It is believed that this is due to the growing outrage from fans who have grown tired of waiting for "Naruto Shippuden" to go canonical again.

It does not look like this will be a problem for fans anyway, as they are looking to see more of Naruto and company rather than the side story prolonged to more number of episodes.

Now, it looks like this Ashura-Indra story arc is officially wrapped up and the spotlight is back on Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, at least based on the promo for "Naruto Shippuden" episode 469.

In the short teaser for the upcoming installment, the beloved trio was heavily featured, leading fans to believe that the episode will also be the same way.

That being said, "Naruto Shippuden" may finally be going back on its real course after months' worth of episodes that, although exciting, took fans away from the real story.

It is important to note that in the "Naruto Shippuden" episode 469 clip, not only was it big on Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. They were also shown in their classic and most recognizable outfits.

Whether or not "Naruto Shippuden" episode 469 "A Special Mission" is the episode fans have been waiting for months, they will learn when the episode airs this Thursday, July 28 on TV Tokyo.
