Yahoo Sports has determined the teams most likely to participate heavily in the upcoming NBA trade in February. Pistons, Suns, Timberwolves, Hornets, Clippers, Pacers, Nets, Nuggets and Rockets were all on the list but Boston Celtics seemed to be at the peak. While John Green is pitted for a possible trade, one who was constantly and heavily speculated to switch sides is Rajon Rondo, who will be a free agent come off-season. In a game this season, Rondo averaged 8 points, 10.6 assists and 7.5 rebounds.

Rumors previously differed concerning the 28-year-old's switch. Lakers Nation broached how news stated Celtics' willingness to release the one-time NBA champion and how some reports contradicted it. But it looks like Rondo will have a new home soon in the Dallas Mavericks.

As a first, Los Angeles Lakers put across the possibility. Many believed that Jeremy Lin and Wesley Johnson struggled with fulfilling their point guard and small forward positions and someone like Rondo paired with Celtics forward Jeff Green may do the job for them.

Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets had shown the utmost interest in snagging the 6-foot-1-inch point guard from the lucky clover-clad team. And as discussions continued, it has been confirmed that the Mavericks will be welcoming Rondo.
