The 2015 NCAA basketball tournament hasn't concluded yet but this early, there are a number of college hoopsters expected to join the upcoming NBA draft.

R.J. Hunter is one prospect, the junior playmaker from Georgia State. For a player who isn't concerned of being in the spotlight, his game-winning three pointer which helped Georgia State defeat Baylor in the round of 64 has certainly gotten the eye of a lot of teams.

However it seems that despite his heroics, Hunter has been under the close eye of one of the NBA's popular teams right now – the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The reason behind this is apparently the Cavs gaping hole of beefing up their point guard spot. Kyrie Irving is there but the need for a reliable back-up to spell the Cleveland star will be a need.

Why Hunter? Though there were questions on whether the junior player would join this year's NBA draft, Adrian Wojanrowski tweeted that Hunter is indeed expected to join the draft.

Hunter, considered to be one of the best pure shooters in college basketball, is tagged to be a coach's dream. He can shoot, play defense and is a player who is reportedly not scared to take over when the need arises.

Though his wiry frame and weight could pose a problem in the big leagues, beefing up and working his body to perhaps 15 to 20 pounds more could place him in step with the current crop of guards in the NBA.

And mind you, the Cavs are not the only one looking closely at Hunter. With a lot of teams in need of new blood, particularly the point guard position, the Georgia State guard stands to be an interesting pick who may be gone before the first round.

With that bit, this could be bad news for the Cavs if they are truly intent on signing R.J. Hunter. Could they trade for him instead?
