The big news in the NBA the past couple of days had to do with that alleged fracas involving Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes and New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher.

Initial reports from Yahoo Sports claim that Barnes drove 95 miles just to confront the Knicks head coach who has been linked to his ex, Gloria Govan.

Both Barnes and Fisher reportedly got in a heated altercation with Barnes claiming to have gotten in more. He even claims that he spat on his ex-wife's face during the commotion. Folks on hand saw it differently, saying that Fisher put up a decent fight.

Just a day after that first report, Barnes bared that he did not really drive all that way from his team's training camp. He claimed to have a home in Marina del Rey, which is just 15 minutes away from his former home.

He added that he simply went there to check on his sons who were bothered by the fact that their mom was with another man (Fisher).

The reports seem to be different at that point until the confrontation turned ugly. It reportedly took the people on hand to restrain things from getting out of hand. Fisher was reportedly no longer around when the police were called in.

As it stands now, there is no clear indication of any legal action to be made. Fisher has said he wouldn't and has even talked to Knicks president Phil Jackson about what happened.

Although he says it will not be a distraction, the whole thing is something that will certainly not die down. On whether or not such would impair the Knicks, chances remain to be seen, although Fisher finds himself in quite a predicament.

Fisher filed for divorces against his wife Candace last March, a month after the former couple celebrated their 10th anniversary. It is believed that Fisher and Gavin have been dating for some months now.

Equally interesting would be the time when the Knicks face the Grizzlies. Both teams are set to meet on Jan. 16, 2016 in Memphis.
