NBA 2015 rumors: Jason Terry moving to New Orleans?

Will Jason Terry join the New Orleans Pelicans soon?

From the looks of it, such seems to be the case. After reportedly being unhappy with the contract that the Houston Rockets offered him, the veteran guard could very well be taking his act to New Orleans.

According to CBS Sports, the Rockets had reportedly renounced his Bird rights and then offered him a minimum contract to stay on. With the offer seemingly far from appealing, it looks like Terry could be taking up the Pelicans offer which is estimated to be about $2.139 million for the coming season.

Despite being a proven veteran, Terry was never a real factor for coach Kevin McHale's cause. With Patrick Beverly out, it seems that Terry never really hit his stride. In all, the Rockets never really tried that hard to keep Terry, although it may be because of the coming of Ty Lawson.

Then again, Lawson's first game as a Rocket is still questionable since the former Nuggets guard is still undergoing rehab.

On the other end, the Pelican could use Terry as a reliable guard since players like Jrue Holiday and Eric Gordon have been frequently sidelined by injuries. If not, he could come off the bench and use his experience to lead the team filled with rising and younger stars.

Terry is not the only player on the Pelicans radar though. Another player whom the team is seriously eyeing is Norris Cole. Cole is of course best known for having won two NBA titles with the Miami Heat and his experience could be a big boost to the guard rotation of incoming head coach Michael Malone.

Hence, it remains to be seen if one or both of them end up agreeing to a deal with the Pelicans heading into the next season. But as far as Terry is concerned, it seems that all he has to do is sign on the dotted line.
