NBA 2015 trade rumors: Jose Calderon and Nik Stauskas to move teams?

The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching and while there are a lot of players being thrown into the mix, no transaction has been close to materializing. And while that should suffice for now, expect a frenzy of player movements especially once the NBA All Star Weekend comes around.

By that time, most teams will be taking a break from hardwood action but such is not expected to hold true for the upper management and coaches of teams. It has happened before and there are certain to be trades forthcoming, both major and minor.

We have already written about players like Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson, Lance Stephenson and Deron Williams as probable targets but this time around, we focus on two other players who could be moved due to team needs.

One is Jose Calderon of the faltering New York Knicks. Despite the arrival of Calderon to fill up the point guard position, his presence has not done wonders. And to think that Calderon holds a huge contract ($7.4 million and $7.7 million in the next two seasons), the Knicks are trying to look for a deal that could rid them of the hefty contract and free up the team's salary cap.

Another player that may very well be moving soon is Nik Stauskas who has so far been struggling with the Sacramento Kings' system. But despite all that, trading Stauskas is seen as something to free up room to get a potent big man that can help bulk up the Kings' middle and of course provide help to resident big man DeMarcus Cousins.

Stauskas is a deadly shooter and someone no team would surely trade off easily. But given the team's predicament and poor record heading into the second half of the NBA regular season, such a move could be necessary to help improve the team as a whole.

Could Calderon and Stauskas end up wearing new uniforms after February 19?
