NBA 2015 trade rumors: Ray Allen to Cavs, Miami Heat, or LA Clippers? Decision after All Star games

Ray Allen continues to ponder his future and weigh out whether he is still fit to return. But to finally put an exclamation point on which is which, the 39 year old NBA star will make his decisions (hopefully final) by the end of the NBA All-Star festivities which takes place this weekend.

Despite his age, many teams are still in hot pursuit of the sharpshooting guard. Allen last played for the Miami Heat but has since been in the background. Among the teams that have kept in touch with Allen include the Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and the Atlanta Hawks.

And apparently this is a reason why the teams in mention have reserved an open spot presumably for Allen. Also, a lot of player movements could hinge on Allen's decision. The NBA trade deadline falls on February 19, just a couple of days after the NBA All Star break.

To date, no major player movement has been done around the league despite the mention of big names in the trading mix. That includes Joe Johnson, Deron Williams, Jose Calderon and Nik Stauskas. But all that could change by the All Star break.

Should Allen choose to wear his basketball gear one more time, there is no clear frontrunner at the moment. But for someone who could play one last time, Allen could choose a team that has the potential to be in the Finals where he could get another and maybe final championship ring.

If that should be the case, Allen could opt to join the Cavaliers where his old buddy Lebron James is though the team hasn't necessarily been living up to its billing as favorites in the regular season.

The streaking Warriors, the defending champion Spurs or even the surprising Atlanta Hawks could be options too. But Allen will surely not be swayed by current team standings considering that it becomes an entirely new game once the playoffs come around.
