2K Games is currently upping its marketing strategy to promote the release of "NBA 2K16" later this month.

On its official Twitter account, @NBA2k, the developer posted a list of the top 10 point guards in the league based on their ratings, which is unsurprisingly led by the 2015 NBA MVP Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors point guard tops the list of the best ball handlers in the professional league with a 93 overall rating. He also happens to be featured on the cover of the upcoming basketball simulation video game.

Other players included on the list are Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul with a 90 overall rating, Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook with an 89 overall rating, Cleveland Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving and Washington Wizards' John Wall who both got an 87 overall rating, Portland Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard with an 86 overall rating, Mike Conley from the Memphis Grizzlies with an 85 overall rating, Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls with an 84 overall rating, and Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry and Atlanta Hawks' Jeff Teague who both have an 83 overall rating.

The game developer plans to release more top 10 lists in the coming days, before the official release date of the game. The lists will be marked with the hashtag #2KTop10.

Meanwhile, 2K Games recently announced that it will release the My NBA 2K companion app, which aims to allow video game players to be constantly connected to their "NBA 2K" games. The app will reportedly have the MyCAREER display and the in-game MyPlayer store, as well as the latest episodes of "2KTV."

"MyNBA2K16 includes the 'NBA 2K'-themed card game, 'MyTEAM Mobile,' which allows players to collect their favorite NBA player cards to challenge other competitors across the world in exhibition games, season tournaments and in-game special events. Fans will be able to earn Virtual Currency for 'NBA 2K16' via the MyNBA2K16 Companion app, creating a seamless cross-platform 'NBA 2K' experience for fans on the go," the game developer said in a press release obtained by CBS Sports

The said app, which features Indiana Pacers' Paul George on the cover, will be released on Oct. 1. "NBA 2K16" will be released on Sept. 29.
