Currently, 2K Sports is having a good run with its latest installment for the publisher's hoops sim franchise. The latest edition which was released in late 2015, "NBA 2K16," boasts of massive new and improved features, as well as the return of freebies and expansion content through locker codes.

The latest rummors suggest that a new code has cropped up.

According to The Bit Bag, a new locker code has been sighted via social media. A hardcore player tweeted that a new code supposedly unlocks Brian Scalabrine. The tweet said, "Black Mamba Strikes! Limited Amethyst Brian Scalabrine #LockerCodes: TR903-OLFCD-LE2DC-ADT49-OSH21."

Scalabrine is a former NBA player and now acts as a television analyst for the Boston Celtics.

The industry follower added that aside from the supposed Scalabrine locker code, some released codes are still available for the month. The different codes are a mix of current and former NBA greats. These codes can unlock legendary basketball superstars such as Karl Malone (Q1585-CPEWU-HZNWY-WK2EW-V1E4C), Michael Jordan (FZV7P-FQ9SU-SRNZZ-9AB27-9ZUUT), and Larry Bird (ZG9QQ-VYAVK-I2ZUD-TU2VL-ZFYLQ).

Meanwhile, the locker codes roster for current NBA greats list MVP Steph Curry (9BUQS-QTKDU-ASYJU-3W183-QVXBC), LeBron James (9BUQS-QTKDU-ASYJU-3W183-QVXBC) and Paul George (WR9KL-6NQ9Z-CWWGF-MVG4C-T3L8P).

It seems like 2K Sports will not limit the locker codes to only unlock basketball-related items and characters. According to BlackBox, the "NBA 2K16" publisher released special edition jerseys and items to promote the upcoming "Captain America" movie.

Apparently, gamers can check out the MyPlayer mode to see a collection of film-inspired patterns, such as jerseys with logos of Captain America, Hydra, and Spiderman. The industry follower said that although the special edition items were ushered in during the holidays, the Marvel-related items will not be part of the holidays-only content, to maintain fans' interest and promote the upcoming movie.

"NBA 2K16" is available for the Xbox One and 360 consoles, as well as the PS3 and PS4 and the PC.
