Fans of "NBA 2K16" can try out the new 2K Pro-Am mode when the game itself is officially released.

2K Pro-Am mode is the latest addition to the popular basketball video game.

In 2K Pro-Am mode, players can use the characters they have created through the game's MyPlayer mode and include them in custom teams that will be playing in full five-on-five basketball games. The new mode is being seen as extension of the MyPlayer mode that had become a staple of "NBA 2K" games in the past.

This time around, instead of players only being able to take control of what their created character looks like and how he plays on the court, gamers can now also customize all sorts of other elements as they create a new team, according to Gamespot. Being given the chance to form their own teams means players can now craft their own arenas, jerseys, and logos whenever they play 2K Pro-Am mode in "NBA 2K16."

Once a team has been created, players can then compete in five-on-five games either with strangers online or with their own friends.

2K Pro-Am mode will feature four courts ready to be used, meaning up to 40 players can participate at the same time.

The games in 2K Pro-Am mode are not just amateur contests either, as they will include the same sets of rules as in regular NBA games. 2K has also promised instant matchmaking for their new mode, and leaderboards will also be made available upon release.

2K Pro-Am mode is being viewed as the replacement for the Jordan Rec Center that was part of "NBA 2K15," according to Polygon. This time around, however, players are being told that they will not have to wait around just to be able to get into a game.

"NBA 2K16" will be launched on Sept. 29.
