Earlier this month, Christian Today did reveal that work on NBA 2K16 was already underway. Body scans from two teams, the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat had started and as part of 2K Sports effort to rebound from a disappointing NBA 2K15, the developers sought the help from gamers and fans through feedback and inputs.

The result of those feedbacks was a wishlist which was detailed over at nba2k16game.com. The wish list included the following:

  1. Improved Simulation of Situations
  2. Myteam Mode featuring changes.
  3. Improved Rating Systems
  4. Focus on Sports Fundamentals rather than money
  5. Reduction of fouls
  6. Player Rating inconsistencies and special skill/s
  7. Improved rebounding skills for 7-foot players
  8. Improved Servers

The wish list garnered positive response from gamers which in all somehow weeds out the main issue of the game focusing too much on graphics rendering. In fact too good in the sense that the actual game in real life seems to be something that is severely being overlooked.

Being a simulation game, it is apparent that gamers are hoping that NBA 2K16 will be something more realistic and tied up as to how the actual game is played.

Team and individual development is something that fans believe need a lot of improvement as well. As stated earlier, focus seems to be more on earning money which would eventually be used to earn skill points. For people who have played NBA 2K15, doing such takes some time and could perhaps eventually lead users to simply get fed up.

At the tailend of it all are the game server performance. With the large volume of players expected to play the game online, one thing that they would want to see less are delays or game hangs which would hinder them from playing the game smoothly.

The wish list does point out many issues from fans and hopefully such would be addressed and improved once NBA 2K16 comes around. With roughly 7 to 8 months to go, more improvements could still come out.

NBA 2K16 is set to be released by October 2015 although an early glimpse of the game could be released in June at the E3 or Electronics Entertainment Expo. The game will come out with versions for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and for personal computers (PC).
