While fans continue to enjoy the latest installment from 2K Sports' hoops simulation titles, some can't help but wonder what the developer has in store beyond the current-gen "NBA 2K16" title. Reportedly, one of the improvements that will be greatly tweaked in the upcoming "NBA 2K17" will be the gameplay and stats for Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry.

According to IGN, although the current in-game counterpart of the GSW player has already been tweaked numerous times, the "NBA 2K16" player can't keep up with with the real-life athlete. In an interview, "NBA 2K16" gameplay director Mike Wang said that the current game is trying to keep up with Curry's real-life skills by adding in-game stats and scoring mechanics gameplay to "keep the game balanced and fair."

However, recent achievements by the GSW player, particularly his dribbling and scoring skills showcased in every "NBA 2K16" game, seem to pale in comparison to the skills being displayed by the real Steph Curry.

The gameplay director said that this makes drastically changing Steph Curry's points and gameplay mechanics all the more important, particularly in the upcoming "NBA 2K17."

"For Steph, we need to re-define those rules so that his virtual character is able to make some of the insane plays that he makes in real life on a more regular basis," Wang told IGN.

The Bitbag agrees with the drastic changes, adding that based on how he plays right now, Stephen Curry deserves special treatment.

Meanwhile, aside from tweaking Steph Curry's in-game avatar, 2K Sports is thinking of adding more celebrations in the upcoming title. According to Attack of the Fanboy, community manager Chris Manning recently asked fans on Twitter which celebrations they'd like to see in the follow-up, with the answers carrying the #NBA2k17 and #SigNation tags.
