Kobe Bryant, now a retired veteran who played his entire career for the Los Angeles Lakers, will be appearing on the Legend Edition cover for "NBA 2K17." Now, as stated in a report from Forbes, the standard edition will be launching simultaneously with the Legend Edition this September and will feature Paul George on the cover.

According to the report, the game is set to launch for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Sept. 20. However, for fans who pre-order the game they will be getting it a few days early as it is set to launch for pre-orders on Sept. 16. The report also states that this is the earliest that an "NBA" game had released, beating the previous game's launch by nine days.

However, the standard edition is not just going to focus on Paul George. The cover will also have Kevin Durant, Andre Drummond, Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns. The official "NBA 2K17" Twitter account also reveals that Kyrie Irving has been added to the standard edition cover as well. A seventh and final cover star has yet to be revealed.

According to Movie News Guide, the promotional posters and art for the game also seem to suggest that "NBA 2K17" will also have a Summer Olympics game mode, due to the images showcasing Paul George in the Olympics uniform. However, 2K Games have yet to confirm if this game mode is truly making it into the final build of the game.

Pre-ordering the Standard Edition will give players early access to the game, 5,000 Virtual Currency and a special MyTEAM bundle that is guaranteed to have a George Free Agent card. There are more bonuses that will be revealed at a later point closer to the game's release.

A previous report has listed the benefits of purchasing the Legend Edition, which includes a special Kobe Bryant poster and more Virtual Currency.
