The Brooklyn Nets are looking to rebuild the team with a number of fire starters. The latest to join the lineup is free agent guard Joe Harris.

In a statement to the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets management confirmed that Harris has just signed Joe Harris for a multi-year contract.

The Nets' general manager, Sean Mark, stated: "We are confident that Kenny and his staff will continue to create an environment in which Joe and our other young players will develop and thrive."

Harris signed up with the Nets after being waived by the Orlando Magic in trade.

This means that Harris will get a chance to play for the rebuilt Nets next season. Recent acquisitions for the team include Anthony Bennett, Trevor Booker and Jeremy Lin. Although Lin is said to be close to coach Kenny Atkinson, choosing the Nets is still a surprise. However, Lin said that it is good to be working with all of his team mates from the ground up, likening it to a startup business.

Lin said, "You don't necessarily look at the product right then and there at that moment, but you're betting on the founder a lot of times, on what that person is capable of doing because sometimes as you go through the process the final product is going to change a little. That's very common in startups. That's how I saw this."

Harris is a second round draft pick in the 2014 NBA draft by Cleveland. In two seasons for the Cavs, Harris played in 56 games, with an average of 9.1 minutes and 2.5 points per game. He also played for Cleveland's D-League team, the Canton Charge. Harris saw action for 10 games in the previous season, playing for 33.1 minutes per game and averaging 16.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
