NBA Trade news 2015: Clippers shipping out Jamaal Crawford?

The Los Angeles Clippers have officially introduced Lance Stephenson but his recent acquisition may result into some players being shipped out.

At the top of the list is rumored to be Jamaal Crawford who may be traded for a player that coach Doc Rivers feels necessary to beef up their roster.

Crawford hardly helped in the playoffs and has not panned up as the player who can perfectly spell starting point guard Chris Paul. Crawford is more of a scorer but apparently the Clippers don't need a prime time scorer in the team considering they can get production from practically other players like Paul and Blake Griffin.

Stephenson's entry could be another source provided he gets back into shape.

Word has it that Crawford could likely be traded to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for possibly Wilson Chandler. Aside from Crawford, CJ Wilcox could be included in the transaction.

Chandler's entry fills in the void of the small forward slot, recently made vacant when the Clippers sent Barnes to the Charlotte Hornets along with Spencer Hawes for Stephenson. Chandler is in the last year of his $7.1 million non-guaranteed contract.

For Crawford, it remains to be seen if he will remain with the Nuggets or be waived. He will be entering the last year of his contract valued at $1.5 million and much of that may depend on how new head coach Michael Malone sees Crawford fitting into the team. The same case could hold true for Wilcox.

For the Clippers, Rivers says that he is still looking to add 3 or 4 more players for more depth in his rotation. After hardly getting any help from the bench last season, the Clippers may find themselves looking for cheaper free agents due to salary cap restraints.

Paul Pierce is reportedly another target though it remains to be seen how Rivers and the Clips can work out an amenable deal to fit in the NBA vet into their fold.
