Dion Waiters seems to be doing fine right now with the Oklahoma City Thunder as a reserve guard but this early, there are ramblings that the fourth overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft could be returning home in Philadelphia.

Word about Waiters' desire to return to Philly and play for the 76ers was first brought out in the open by Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, saying that the South Philadelphia native wants to come home.

The article further states that the Sixers are in a good position to offer Waiters a good deal, not to mention be a great fit since the Sixers are in need of a tested shooting guard which Waiters has proven to be.

Waiters has expectedly shot down the rumors but such was also stated by Pompey that the 23-year-old player will not publicly admit his desire since he is still under contract with the Thunder.

For the Thunder, these rumors would come as a surprise since they were under the impression that Waiters was pretty much comfortable in Oklahoma. And if ever the Sixers or any other team try to dangle him an offer, the Thunder can still match and keep the shooting guard in their fold.

It remains to be seen if Pompey's sources are indeed credible on these claims. Of course, there are some who believe that such could be a ploy for Waiters to get a lucrative deal by 2016 as well.

Whatever happens, it doesn't look like the Thunder are about to budge and let Waiters go easily; so if Philly is interested, they may have to dangle something interesting to net him.

Waiters landed in OKC from Cleveland where he was evidently displaced. Waiters was a key figure in the rotation and the offense but ever since LeBron James and Kevin Love came into the picture, things just weren't the same anymore.

While his backup role continues in OKC, he could be a starter at Philly. So is he really headed home or not?
