NBA trade rumors: Markieff Morris joining the Houston Rockets?

Markieff Morris had a pretty dramatic summer, highlighted by that rant in which he demanded to be traded. It even cost him a hefty fine for taking those remarks public, something sparked by the trade of his twin brother Marcus to the Detroit Pistons.

Apparently, the Morris Twins agreed to a lower salary just as long as they could stay together in Phoenix. But with the aim of doing what is best for the ball club, the Suns had to do some personnel changes and the unfortunate casualty was his brother.

Marcus has been doing great with the Pistons but sadly such cannot be said of Markieff with the Suns. In fact, it was even his brother Marcus who noticed that Markieff seem unhappy, and such could be resolved if a trade happens.

The Pistons are interested in Markieff but the thing is they have to give up something that the Suns would find interesting in return. There seems to be another team interested in his services, though, as reported by ESPN — the Houston Rockets.

Markieff did mention in the offseason that the Houston Rockets were one of the teams he would love to join because he wanted to play alongside James Harden, as reported by SB Nation back in August. The other team was the Toronto Raptors because of Kyle Lowry.

While nothing really happened at that time, the sudden interest of the Rockets could spur something. And in exchange, Terence Jones could be the one the Rockets will be giving up, although it remains to be seen if the Suns will bite.

On whether this will prosper or not remains to be seen. By Dec. 15, about 100 players could be dealt, seeing that the ones who signed new deals will be trade eligible. Could Markieff Morris be one of them considering he is just on the first year of his four-year $32 million contract?
