NBA trade rumors 2015: Ryan Anderson for Markieff Morris happening?

The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly putting Ryan Anderson on the trading block and there is a possibility that the 27-year-old forward could be trading places with Markieff Morris of the Phoenix Suns.

Anderson is a reliable scorer and someone the Pelicans would surely want to keep. But seeing that he is in the final year of his contract and likely to command a higher salary for next season, he could be lost anyway.

So while there is time, the Pelicans seem to try and get something in return for him and it could be for a player who has long been rumored to want out of the Suns organization, Morris via Yahoo Sports.

The story of Morris is, of course, nothing new to most who have been following the NBA drama in the offseason. He has shown displeasure over the trade of his twin brother Marcus who is now with the Detroit Pistons.

Morris had initially gone public and demanded to be traded to another team. There were two teams he mentioned in the offseason, the Houston Rockets and the Toronto Raptors.

Nothing really happened at that time which saw him even fined for his actions. He claimed he wanted to play for the Suns but just the same, many felt he would be traded somewhere along the line.

Right now, the Pelicans seem to be interested but so are other teams. Such include the Rockets (possibly a deal which would involve Terence Jones) and the Detroit Pistons which would reunite him with his brother.

For the Pelicans, Morris could be a valuable addition to help out in the frontcourt. Although Anderson is a scorer, his toughness could be an added boost to help Anthony Davis.

The Pelicans could keep Anderson but that would mean the team going over the $70 million in guaranteed salaries next season. Bulk of the payroll of the Pelicans is invested on Davis with $145 million.
